Second-place teams clash

Joint second-place teams Watson Grove and Greater Portmore clash in the seventh round of the WIHCON-sponsored Portmore Division Two Football League feature match tomorrow, at the Watson Grove playing field, match time is 3:30 p.m.

The Watson Grove/Greater Portmore clash is one of six games on in the league.

In the opening game at the venue, fifth-place Christian Pen (10), play seventh-place Hellshire United (eight) at 1:30 p.m.

Both Greater Portmore and Watson Grove are on 13 points, but the former has the better goal difference, which gave them the nod over their rivals to challenge for the mid-season crown.

rebound

Greater Portmore, like Watson Grove, will want to rebound from disappointments over the past two weeks. Greater Portmore lost to Christian Pen 0-2 two Sundays ago in league play, and fell on penalties to Portsmouth in the mid-season final, while Watson Grove drew 1-1 with Hellshire when a win would put them in their first Senior League final.

In other games, league leaders Portsmouth (18) is expected to hammer 10th-place Caymanas Gardens Site D (five) in a 3:30 p.m. game at Portsmouth, also at that venue at 1:30 p.m., last-place teams Caymanas Gardens (one) and Portmore Pines (one) battle for their first win of the season. Meanwhile, competitive games are expected at the Racing playing field as Daytona tackle Hellshire United at 1:30 p.m. and Braeton United face off with Newtown Braeton at 3:30 p.m.
