Portsmouth won 5-4 on penalties. When Portsmouth captain Hosea Renton struck the winning penalty kick in the roof of the net in the Genus Pharmacy-sponsored Portmore Division Two Mid-season final, it triggered a field invasion as the fans rushed to Renton and hoist their hero in the air.
Renton's goal gave Portsmouth a 5-4 sudden death penalty shoot-out win against Greater Portmore, at the Greater Portmore playing field on Sunday, after both teams were locked 0-0 after regulation and extra time.
"This is one of the hardest game we played, we missed our chances (during relegation time), but we still succeeded with the help of God, God is with our team that's why we succeed," Dwayne Taylor, coach of Portsmouth said after the game.

Coach of Greater Portmore, Keith 'Shabba' Johnson, wasn't pleased with the officiating. "The referees in Jamaica need to get their thing straight, you can't be refereeing with heart, you need to ref fair, as you see it you call it. The
referee killed the game," he concluded.
Apart from that, he experimented with a new formation which his team didn't cope well with as his players got off a mere two shots on goal.
