Investigations still continue into the controversial photograph which police said showed persons resembling deejays Vybz Kartel and Aidonia posing with guns.
Operation Kingfish had expressed an interest to speak with Kartel, whose real name is Adidjah Palmer and Aidonia (Sheldon Lawrence) after they came in possession of the picture.
When contacted initially, spokesman for Operation Kingfish, Inspector Steve Brown, said, "We have a photograph of four men, two of whom we have identified as Vybz Kartel and Aidonia. The two were seen posing with high-powered weapons."
Inspector Brown was also adamant that the picture was not tampered with.
When asked if the men could be charged, Inspector Brown explained that after speaking with them, the police would decide their next move.
Yesterday, when
THE STAR asked if the police have made a decision as to their next move , Inspector Brown said that investigations are still in progress.
He expressed uncertainty about if the deejays would be subject to a second interview. "We don't know yet," he simply replied.
Aidonia and Kartel are among Jamaica's most promising deejays, and have had a slew of hits. Aidonia is known for songs such as Ukku and That's Up, while Kartel has hits like Wine Pon You and Picture This.
