'Last Chance Meet' on tomorrow

Apart from anticipated the showing of World Championships silver medallists Usain Bolt and Brigitte Foster-Hylton, most athletes and coaches will be using tomorrow's Lucozade Sport/GC Foster College Classics to fine-tune for Boys and Girls Champs.

National 200m record holder Bolt, who was second in the same event at last summer's World Championships in Osaka, Japan, will run in the men's 100m, while Foster-Hylton, a silver and bronze medallist from the Paris and Helsinki World Championships, respectively, will run the 100m hurdles.

The meet dubbed 'Last Chance for Champs', to be staged on the college's ground in Angels, Spanish Town, will start at 9:00 a.m.

Though most of the country's top junior athletes will be missing in action, a few top schools will be on show. As to who will turn out is yet to be finalised, especially since 'Champs' begins in less than a week.

Kingston College (KC), Camper-down, Jamaica College (JC), Morant Bay and Seaforth are the top boys schools, while Holmwood, defending Girls Champs winners, Manchester, St. Andrew and St. Jago are expected to lead the girls teams.

In the clubs/institution section, the fire works are expected from MVP, Racers, UTech, G.C. Foster Track Club, High Performance Training Centre, Mobay Comets and Jamalco.

The events down to be contested are 100m, 400m, 800m, 70m hurdles, 80m hurdles, 100m hurdles, 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, high jump, long jump, triple jump, discus, shot put and javelin (female only).
