Christopher Duhaney, 23, of Lacovia district, St Elizabeth, was remanded in the St Elizabeth Circuit Court after a jury was unable to decide his fate.

Duhaney was tried for the death of Sergeant Jeffeth Seville, who was shot dead on April 4, 2006, at his business place on the Lacovia main road.

Allegations are that about 10:30 p.m., Sergeant Seville was at his business place when residents heard explosions. Duhaney was later seen walking from the premises with two guns in his hands.

Duhaney is scheduled to be tried in the next session of the St Elizabeth Circuit Court which begins next June. He was represented by attorney-at-law George Clue.

The jurors retired for one and a half hours and were unable to reach a verdict. They were instructed by Justice D.O. McKintosh and retired for another half hour, but was still unable to come to a verdict.
