Constable will have her day in court

The female traffic constable from the Mandeville Police Station who is accused of stealing a piece of cheese is to return to court on Friday, July 11.

Constable Georgette Tyndale appeared before Resident Magistrate Sonia Bertram Linton in the Mandeville RM Court yesterday and her bail was extended.

She was arrested last week for stealing a piece of cheese valued at $125 from Super Plus Food Stores, in Mandeville.

It's reported that the constable had bought several items from the supermarket.

Upon leaving the establishment, a supervisor approached the policewoman who was dressed in plain clothes and informed her that she did not pay for the cheese.

The constable reportedly claimed it was an error an offered to pay for the cheese. however, the supermarket supervisor refused the offer and instead called the police.

Constable Tyndale was arrested and two days later she was charged with simple larceny.
