Hurricane rebound against Eradication

Defending champions Hurricane rebounded from their loss to Caribbean Classic on the previous Sunday to beat the highly touted Eradication 300-255 in the CTL-sponsored Portmore/St. Catherine Domino League which marked its 16th round last Sunday.

Playing at home (Dunbeholden), Hurricane led all the way to win by 45 points. They led by 28 points at half-time and asserted their authority even more after the interval for an easy win.

As a result, Hurricane have moved up to sixth place in the standings with 57 points from 16 matches.

Joint leaders Caribbean Classic and Fort International both maintained their winning streaks to head the tables with 72 points from 16 matches.

Playing at home, Caribbean Classic defeated Masterpiece 300-285 at Portmore Lane, while Fort International beat Lime Tree 300-288 in an away match at Lime Tree Grove.

Prozz and Cons turned in the upset of the round, coming from behind to beat home team Eagle View 300-292 in a countdown at Old Braeton. Despite the loss, Eagle View are joint third in the standings with Ackee Pod, both having 63 points from 16 matches, with Eradication dropping to fifth with 62 points from 16 matches.

In other matches played last Sunday, Ackee Pod beat Correctional Services 300-277 at Garveymeade Sports Club, High Roller clipped Marlie Mount 300-297 in an exciting countdown at Portmore Town Centre, Seamaster got by Right Stuff 300-292 in a home match in Old Harbour, Village Link stopped Old Harbour United 300-280 at Thompson Pen, Ken's Wildflower drubbed JUTC 300-255 at Ken's Wildflower and ISCF whipped New Look 300-257 in a home match at Back Road.

The competition takes a break tomorrow to pave the way for the Colours International Pairs KO at Colours Sports Bar, Port Henderson Plaza. Entry fee is $1,000 per pair.

The winning pair will receive $18,000, second $12,000, third $5,000 and fourth $3,000.
