Cops wreck tow truck driver's day

Rasbert Turner, Star Writer

spanish town

An operation by detectives from the Office of Professional Responsibility has led to the arrest and charge of a wrecker driver with breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act.

Alvin Hensley, 47, was held in Spanish Town about 4 p.m. on Friday by the detectives after they received reports of him collecting $3,500 from a motorist to give back a motor car that was seized by the police.

Reports are that on Thursday, the lawmen seized a motor car. However, Hensley contacted the owner. Arrangements were then made.

Reports were made to the OPR and a sting operation was set up. Hensley was held collecting the money.

He joined another wrecker man who was remanded by the court last week for his alleged involvement in collecting money from a motorist whose vehicle the police had seized.
