A one-year-old child and a man were shot dead, while three persons were left nursing gunshot wounds after rival gangs exchanged gunfire in the volatile Tower Hill community of Olympic Gardens, St Andrew on Thursday evening.
Dead are 17-month-old Oshane Scott of William Crescent and 33-year-old Dexter Wright of Philip Crescent.
Police reports are that about 6:30 p.m, a face-off between the warring gangs occurred at the intersection of Tower and Ebony avenues with those injured getting caught in the crossfire.
Two women and a man were shot and injured.
Top cop for the St Andrew South Division, Senior Superintendent Derrick 'Cowboy' Knight told THE STAR that the police are expressing some interest in persons who they believe can assist in their investigations.
According to SSP Knight, the men who go by the names "Frog man", "Burru", "Troy", "Dave", "Dean" and "Chris" are being sought by the police.
"These men are all from the St Paul's area and we need to talk to them," SSP Knight said. He urged residents to come forward and assist the police as they move to bring those responsible for the shootings to justice.
