A story on yesterday's front page of THE STAR revealed that the police were planning to implement strict security measures at the Half-Way Tree Court for Carlos Hill's appearance today.
This was a wise decision on their part, as there is no doubt that there are over- emotional, disgruntled investors who will stop at nothing to harm Hill.
In fact, without proper security measures, the lives and well-being of everyone at court would be at risk. Missiles in flight have no eyes and no sense of direction or target, therefore, anyone in close range to Hill would be at risk.
We can only imagine how crowded and full of excitement today's proceedings will be and it would not be surprising if more than a few placard-bearing investors take to the streets.
The police will, no doubt, have their hands full trying to hold back angry and blood-hungry lenders who all want a 'piece' of Hill. On an average day, it takes a lot for the police to keep out unauthorised persons, so we can only imagine that today it will be doubly hard.
We hope that everything goes smoothly and incident free and that the decision to beef up security actually makes a difference and keeps things under control.
