Mom knows best

Dear Pastor,

I am a 13-year-old and I don't really have a problem, but something is bothering me. My mother and I talked about having boys as friends and she told me that I can, but in my age group. I don't think she knows now, though, that I do have boys as friends and I would like to tell her their names, but I am afraid. The reason I am afraid is that my mother and I keep falling out and I want a good relationship with her again, but it's hard for me to do so.

Pastor, please, could you tell me a way that I can get back with my mother and tell her about my life fully.

N.R., St Catherine, Jamaica

Dear N.R.,

Follow the advice of your mother. Do the things you know that would please her, such as your chores, your assignments, etc. When your mom is in the house, offer to assist her in whatever she is trying to go. Don't be rude to her at all. Learn to tell your mother that you love her and hug her as often as possible.
