Comedic duo, Ity and Fancy Cat have been planning to take their stand up act to television for some time now, and starting this weekend, their first ever show is set to be premiered.

The show will premiere on Television Jamaica Limited (TVJ) on Friday, April 25, 2008, at 9:30 pm and will be aired every Friday at the same time, with a re-broadcast on Tuesdays at 11:30 pm, in its 13-week first season.

Produced by Ellis International, the new 'Ity and Fancy Cat Show' promises fun, laughter and fresh, new, outside the box jokes.

Ity says, "It's been a longtime coming and our hope is that we get the same kind of response that we get for Ity and Fancy Cat regularly. What we want to do is to transfer our talent to television. And the show is going to be edgy, but within the rules of the Broadcasting Commission."

Ity says persons have been constantly asking what the show will be like, but he says the best way to describe it is one that will feature stand up comedy. "But the best description of it is a merge of 'In Living Colour' and we will also have interview sections that will not be normal. It will not be like your regular interview, it a guh different," Ity said.

Fancy Cat also added that the show had been a long time in the making and he is happy to see it finally come through.

"Finally it a come tru after di whole heap a headache an ting, cause if a me alone mi give up, but Ity very persistent. Mi just hope di people dem accept an love it and continue to give dem support," Fancy Cat said.

"People can also listen out for us on Nationwide, on a Tuesday and Thursday, 12:30 pm- 1 pm, where they can call in and give us feedback on the show," he continued.

Ity says he is only happy that there were persons of influence who really believed in their talent, "because if people nuh believe inna yuh, it can't happen."

"People can love you and say you are great, but when dem actually put dem money to it, it really shows that they believe in you," Ity said. "Special big up to Digicel and Courts."

Unquestionably rated among the top stand-up comedy acts in Jamaica, Ity and Fancy Cat are considered to be engaging and entertaining, with a proven record of originality, consistency, and professionalism, as their work extends to appreciative audiences in North America, the UK and all over the Caribbean.

They were the Gleaner awardees for 'Best Comic Duo' two years in a row, and were the first Comedians to be featured as The STAR's Artiste of the Month. They have established an enviable reputation with their spontaneity, versatility and exciting stage presence.

In addition to their expansive repertoire of jokes, stories, impersonations, impressions and dance moves, this duo also boasts an amazing capacity to adapt their content and delivery to suit the sensibilities of a wide range of audiences. Simply put, they make people laugh, they do it every time and they are equally effective in any setting.

The 'Ity and Fancy Cat Show' is brought to you by Courts Jamaica Ltd and Digicel, in association with TVJ, Fame 95FM, WATA, The STAR, Buzzz Magazine and Toyota Jamaica.
