Fans greet Earnest Moodie (foreground) aka Famous after he performed during the Digicel Rising Stars auditions at Paul Bogle High School in St Thomas on Saturday, April 26.
The sun was scorching in St Thomas at the first Digicel Rising Stars audition but some people seemed hell bent on wearing black, high heels and other eccentric garb.
One of the persons who stood out was Famous. He wore black shirt, vest, jacket, pants, shoes and shades. It was evident that he was attracting much heat but he was not short of attention as he was heartily greeted after he auditioned.
Phillip Brown, who is 50 years old and at his second audition, sported a black cowboy hat and a matching longsleeved jacket. There were also other actors who wore pullovers made from thick cotton cloth.
But those persons seemed tame compared to the Michael Jackson impersonator who wore a white suit with silver belt, a wig and his head phone.
The women were mostly well dressed but many surprisingly wore heels to the audition at which they had to wait for hours. Nonetheless, one woman had to draw public attention. Jenice Tugwell said she was trying to emulate one of her favourite artistes, Tessanne Chin, who has Chinese origins. She wore a white sleeveless top and a lime green skirt, with each piece having many bell-like ornaments hanging from it.
For the most part, however, the fashion at the first audition was quite normal.
