An accountant accused of carnal abuse and buggery denied the allegations against him when the matter was mentioned in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
Dwayne Meikle, 23, pleaded not guilty to charges. The court was told that the accused allegedly rubbed his genitals on the four-year-old complainant's bottom and penetrated her vagina with the organ.
However, the accused man's lawyer told the court that when the statements are read, the allegations would then come into question.
The court was also told that the complainant had been suffering from a medical condition since the incident and that the child had also called the names of three other persons as being in the incident.
However Resident Magistrate Glen Brown said that he does not have the power to order that the accused undergo a medical examination. Hence, it was difficult for him to allow for an opportunity to determine if the accused actually had given the child the medical condition.
He granted the accused $100,000 bail with surety. His fingerprints were also ordered taken and he is to return to court on June 2.
