Xavier Marshall and Chris Gayle in for the second Test. - file
WEST INDIES selector Andy Roberts yesterday announced two changes to the squad which will take on Australia in the second Digicel Test in Antigua on Friday.
Sidelined skipper Chris Gayle is back in the fold, along with fellow Jamaican batsman Xavier Marshall, who was a late call-up to the first Test party.
Out of the 14-man squad are injured batsman Ryan Hinds and off-spinner Amit Jaggernauth.
West Indies and Jamaican paceman Jerome Taylor, who missed the first Test with a back ailment, remains in the team and is expected to play in the match at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
"They (Gayle and Taylor) are both in the squad, so I expect them to be available to play," West Indies coach John Dyson said at yesterday's post-match press conference.
Gayle has been struggling with a groin injury which he sustained in the final one-day international against Sri Lanka in St Lucia last month.
Hinds is apparently still struggling with a hamstring injury. Jaggernauth failed to impress on his Test debut with a match analysis of one wicket for 96 runs off 23 overs.
Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds was particularly harsh on Jaggernauth on the fourth day of the first Test, belting him for three sixes and out of the attack. Jamaican fans quickly dubbed the Trinidadian 'Jaggersix'.
West Indies squad: Chris Gayle (captain), Dwayne Bravo, Suleiman Benn, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Fidel Edwards, Xavier Marshall, Runako Morton, Brenton Parchment, Daren Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Darren Sammy, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Devon Smith and Jerome Taylor.
