No stopping Chadman

Jimmie, Star Racing Writer

CHAMPION trainer Wayne DaCosta's CHADMAN has topweight 57 kilos but should notch his second straight win tomorrow afternoon when he takes on six rivals in the 1400-metre seventh race for Open Allowance runners.

CHADMAN is slapped with a topweight 57.0 kilos after beating Overnight Allowance runners at 1820 metres on May 3. However, he is running his pet trip, 1400 metres, at which he won twice last summer, first beating PASSA PASSA then CALABASH BAY.

Percy Hussey's ACCOMPONG, who also beat Overnight Allowance, albeit horses, who have never won at the level, comes into the event ridiculously light at 49 kilos in another automated attempt at handicapping.

On paper, ACCOMPONG appears too light to lose but American-bred CHADMAN has been tuned for the event.

DaCosta's runner, who won on May 3, has been drilled for the race and will report fresher than ACCOMPONG, whose habit of breaking badly from the gate should negate his favourable weight advantage.

ACCOMPONG recovered from a bad start to beat PRINCE TERRON at a mile last Friday. However, PRINCE TERRON, ridden by Brian Harding, got boxed in at the half-mile and was taken in hand before forced to run widest into the lane before being run out of it by the closing ACCOMPONG.

With the distance reduced by a furlong and the controlling speed being CHADMAN and his stable companion, NATURALLY ROYAL, ACCOMPONG, especially if he gets it wrong at the gate again, will be closing too late to catch DaCosta's American-bred with the bustling Dane Nelson.

No stranger to weight

CHADMAN is no stranger to weight, having carried 55 kilos in both his victories at the distance last year before returning with 57 in a close fourth-place loss to NASATOL at 1200 metres.

Track Price Plus Pick-6 bettors best bet appears to be the first six races with the combination of PURE SILK, XPRESS CARD, UNLEADED, TWENTYFIRSTOFJUNE, MR BUTCHER and SIR MOHANDAS BABA.

Philip Feanny's PURE SILK was going away at the end when winning on debut at 1200 metres on May 3 and should not be bothered by two additional furlongs in the opening event.

The four-year-old American-bred filly posted a brisk 1:12.1 and looks too classy for Barrington Rambally's SPANISH TOWN, another American, who won on debut, clocking 1:06.2 for 1100 metres.

XPRESS CARD, who ran out of steam against JADORE at 1400 metres on May 17, goes a half-furlong shorter in the second, pitted against RIGGED TO WIN, who she had behind in third place.

Always disputing the lead last time out, XPRESS CARD should sit in the pace before running at the leaders approaching the home turn. RIGGED TO WIN looked rather sluggish when finishing.

third behind JADORE and XPRESS CARD and can't be fancied to turn the table.

UNLEADED should outstay his six rivals at 1820 metres in the third after slipping down in class to top-level claiming, running creditably for fifth behind ROYAL IMAGE on May 17.

Feanny's TWENTYFIRSTOFJUNE got caught inside from post position one on last and was beaten by stablemate I'M MAGIC at 1100 metres. Asked to sprint 1000 metres straight, the chestnut filly should chase and beat THE REBEL, who is favourably drawn on the stands side.

Close all bets with MR. BUTCHER who is edging back to form after two close second-place finishes and the oldstager SIR MOHANDAS BABA, who should easily outstay $180,000 claimers at 1700 metres.
