Dwight Samuels enjoys his performance as much as the crowd.
It was a night of fun, laughter and giveaways, inclusive of drinks and liquor, at the Golf View Hotel as the Gleaner-sponsored Mi Nah Laugh comedy show series hit Mandeville on Sunday.
When host Pretty Boy Floyd took the stage at 7:30 p.m. he had the audience 'popping up' at his introduction and his splendid attire.
Dwight Samuels, the 2007 Comedy Bus winner, was the first act of the night's line-up and captivated the audience throughout his entire performance.
Lemon's performance was great and had the audience laughing as he touched several members of the audience with the issue of bleaching.
He was able to captivate the women and had them screaming when he was called back to the stage by the host. Lemon sang while performing slow wining movements.
The audience, however, erupted when Screechy, was called to the stage. Screechy, who is physically-challenged, exhibited exceptional dancing skills to popular dancehall music.
Pretty Boy Floyd had his time with the audience during the intervals and had the audience at a high when he called two ladies to the stage, offering them prizes if they could name a unique ghetto dish. When one of the females mentioned "fry skellion (Scallion) and dumpling" several members of the audience could be seen laughing while holding their bellies.
Leighton Smith's performance was greeted with much applause. The audience was most receptive when he told them that he did not understand the government's request that Jamaicans eat what they grow.
He wondered aloud "if de government woulda want me eat mi son weh mi grow fi eight years". Another high point of his performance was when he told the audience that the reason so many persons are infected with AIDS is because they don't know the correct meaning. He told them that AIDS means "After Infection Death Sure" which had the audience popping up.
Christopher the Entertainer did a short piece on the strength of a woman but was not able to captivate even the women in the audience.
The 'Concerned Citizen' Dalton Spence came on stage with lots of concerns, but the audience was not captivated by his performance leaving him with even more concerns.
Dufton Shepherd and the Mixing Lab ignited flames in Golf View Auditorium and when they made their stage exit they were recalled by a request from the audience.
Comedy duo Apache Chief and Sarge spoke about present day situations in their presentation and had the audience involved in their thirty-minute performance. The energetic comedic duo Ity and Fancy Cat took the show to a close after giving the audience a half-hour treat of laughter.
The show ended at midnight with members of the audience feeling that they got a real deal of fun and laughter for their money.
