Teen charged for robbery

A 16-year-old youth who was reportedly involved in a robbery committed on the campus of the Undergrad College on May 2 has been arrested and charged with three counts of robbery with aggravation.

The minor, who is of a Stony Hill, St Andrew address, was held on May 15 and pointed out by three of four complainants during an ID parade on May 29.

The allegations are that on May 2 about 11 a.m., three men went on to the school's compound and entered a classroom. They reportedly robbed the students of their cellular phones and a portable Playstation game. The men then escaped via the back of the school. The students raised an alarm and the men were chased on to Red Hills Road, where they ran in different directions. Two of the men ran towards Half-Way Tree, while the accused ran towards Princeville Plaza. He was held and searched by two students along Constant Spring Road and some of the stolen items were retrieved.

Co-accused

The youth, who is to appear in court today, is charged jointly with David Douglas who was charged on May 8. Douglas of a Boone Hall district, Golden Spring, St Andrew address, pleaded guilty to robbery with aggravation charges when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on May 21. He is to be sentenced on July 1.
