'Buss head' for giving 'sap'

It seems losing a game of dominoes was just too much for Alphonso Gilbert.

Gilbert, charged with unlawful wounding, is accused of hitting a man in the head with a stone after the man won the round and attempted to leave.

When he appeared before Resident Magistrate Glen Brown in the Corporate Area RM Court on Tuesday, Gilbert pleaded guilty with explanation to the charge. He told the court that he and the complainant had an argument and he was hit the face. He said he threw the stone in retaliation.

Huge bandage

The complainant, who wore a huge bandage around his head, had a different story. He told the court that he was playing a game of dominoes and he and his partner had beaten Gilbert 'six-love'. He said another man asked to play and he obliged. He said as he was about to leave the table when the accused got upset and said, "yu jus waan gi man six love and walk weh."

The accused man then reportedly hit him in the head. Laughter rang throughout the courthouse as the complainant related his story.

Gilbert was sentenced to pay $5,000 or spend 30 days in jail.
