Dear Pastor,

I have a friend who is very depressed. I need your fatherly advice. He is a Christian and married with one child. The problem is, he lives in an extended family home. He is not comfortable in this situation as the members of his wife's extended family are very uncooperative and nasty. He is not used to this situation and it makes him uncomfortable. I often ask him why he stays and he says he and his wife are the only responsible persons in the house they share with a grandmother, who needs assistance. The mother is overseas.

He and his wife are not happy. She says he is not romantic and that he is miserable. He says she devotes time to the television and sleep, leaving no time for intimacy.

Pastor, this young man is a good family man and he doesn't perform well when he is not in a comfortable and clean environment. I guess that's why he is labeled as being miserable.
