Confused fiancée

Dear Pastor,

I have been engaged to a man since last October and he wants to get married next year. I love him, but he is a very jealous and selfish man, and I am a person who gets along with everyone. Whenever we go out and I go and dance with my male friends, he gets all upset with me. I just don't know if I should marry him because right now I feel that if I marry him, I will be too clustered by him.

Please, pastor, tell me if you think its right for me to marry him under these conditions.

Confused Fiancée, Kingston, Jamaica

Dear Confused Fiancée,

A jealous man is an insecure man. Jealous men try to keep their women in bondage. Not all men however, like their women to dance with other men. If your man doesn't like you to dance with other men, that is not enough grounds to end the relationship with him. And if you go out with him and you know that he doesn't like you to dance with your male friends, you shouldn't do so.

On the other hand, any man who tries to tell his wife that she must not have male friends is a fool. Therefore, the decision is yours, whether you want to remain with this man or move on. You know what you want in a man. You did not explain why you called him selfish. I hope you don't mean that because he doesn't want other men to 'rub up' on you on the dance floor, he is selfish.
