The stage has been set for an exciting afternoon of football and prizes when the Parts-A-Lot/ INSPORTS eight-a-side football competition, played in honour of deceased Clarendon Community football star Peter Lindsay, takes place on Sunday in Palmer's Cross.
Kick off schedule
The afternoon's activities kick off at 3 p.m. with the third-place play-off between Webblanders and Original Hazard, followed by the final between Vietnam Alliance and Fresh Stars, and then to top off the proceedings should be an attractive presentation ceremony.
As special guest, the organisers have secured the services of Winston Delahaye, president of the Jamaica Football Referees' Association.
The final features two teams that kept their nerves to overcome and win on penalties after both finished 0-0 after regulation time. Vietnam Alliance proved to be giant killers, knocking out the defending champions Webblanders 5-4 on penalties while Fresh Stars got past Original Hazard 3-2 in their shoot-out duel.
The Fresh Stars line-up on Sunday will feature prominent Clarendon players like Kemar Mills and the Humble Lions pair of Omar Walters and Tyrone Lampart, one of the successful penalty kickers last Sunday. Vietnam Alliance is equally potent and should parade quality players led by Owen 'Bam Bam' Gordon and Romaine Barnes.
