We need more moral cleansing

The lead story in last Friday's STAR told of a very disgusting situation.

According to the article, there had been at least six reports in the last three weeks of dogs being sexually molested in some east Kingston communities.

Such a situation is just another depiction of the sick world in which we live.

What kind of mind thinks to go around and have sex with dogs or any animal for that matter?

Moral cleansing

To make matters worse, it seems whoever is behind the acts is also a thief as complainants have reported the loss of several items from their yards.

It is becoming more and more obvious that we need some moral cleansing.

With the crime rate being as frightening as it is, some persons are making an extra effort to secure their homes and their families.

It now seems that our pets have to be included in those safety plans.

Truth be told, this may be an isolated case of a demented person on the loose, or it just may be that this is the first of a new craze.

Call it hard to imagine, but based on the looks of the society and the sometimes crazy people who populate it, anything is possible.

The old saying goes: 'prevention is better than cure', so the next time you plan to leave your 'best friend', your dog, unattended for a while, think about taking it to a place of safety, maybe to a friend's home or elsewhere which will be abuzz with activity, thus, scaring off potential thieves or rapists.
