Old Harbour, Dela Vega City final

Old Harbour Sports Club and Dela Vega City Cricket Club will contest the Jamaica Energy Partners/St Catherine Cricket Association final following their semi-final victories at the weekend in Spanish Town.

In the semi-final at the Spanish Town Prison Oval defending champions Old Harbour Cricket Club beat Kitson Town Cricket Club by 106 runs.

Batting first Old Harbour Cricket Club made 211. The leading run-getters were captain Lascelles Davis 51, Lloyd Rattary 42 and Kevin Kelly 40. Bowling for Kitson Town, former Jamaica fast bowler Dwight Mais took two for 29 and Junior Morrison two for 39.

Kitson Town were then bundled out for 105 by Old Harbour's Robert Cato who bagged five for 21 and Kevin Kelly, four for 34. The top scorer was Davion Denny who got 26 not out.

Repeat of last year's final

In a repeat of last year's final, Dela Vega City Cricket Club defeated Correctional Services Sports Club by four wickets.

Dela Vega City Cricket Club started the day with an advantage as the highly touted Correctional Services Sports Club arrived late for their appointment at the Chedwin Park grounds and in so doing lost the toss and were charged 15 penalty runs.

They were sent in to bat and made 118 all out. Matthew Stewart top-scored for Correctional Services with 46 runs. Bowling for Dela Vega City, Wayne Morgan captured six for 26.

With Correctional Services already losing 15 penalty runs for lateness the Dela Vega City team needed only to make 104 runs. They achieved this for the loss of six wickets. Nkrumah Bonner took four wickets for 15.

The highly anticipated final will take place on Saturday, July 19 at a venue to be announced.
