Radical Drama comes to life

St Catherine Festival Queen, Marsha Marie Camp-bell, a contestant in the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen pageant, recently formed a group named 'Radical Drama Group', in her community of Portsmouth in St Catherine.

Radical Drama uses theatre as a tool for self develoment and to spread proper values and attitudes in society.

Campbell was not selfish with her idea.

"The project can be replicated in many other communities. We use theatre to solve community-based issues and change attitudes of young people. The monster of crime and violence has set in, therefore, social intervention, such as, radical drama is essential to reduce these disturbances," she said.

The drama group performs at schools and churches and places where there is a need.
