Ryan Richards, a senior loan officer at the St Catherine Co-op Credit Union appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday to answer charges of forgery, uttering forged documents, conspiracy to deceive and conspiracy to defraud.
Richards appeared before the Crown with four other defendants, two of whom, it is alleged, were only "by-standers".
Allegations are that Richards advised persons to access loans for motor vehicles through a loan policy at the credit union.
Two other persons involved in the case were Sherifa Rowe and Charmaine Fisher.
The attorney representing Richards told the Court that Richards received documents to process motor vehicle loans and the documents were submitted to a committee in the credit union that approved the loans. The cheques were drawn in Fisher's and Rowe's names.
Two additional persons are reportedly involved in the case, however Richards' attorney dismissed that idea, saying he was only representing Richards and Rowe.
The clerk of the court then asked for the case to be mentioned again on September 3, as the allegations in the matter were not fully outlined.
