Weddy anniversary on tomorrow

Stone Love's Winston 'Wee Pow' Powell - File

Two weeks ago, Weddy Weddy's anniversary was postponed and last week, the weekly party was not held.

Despite those setbacks, Stone Love's Winston 'Wee Pow' Powell says he would like to assure fans that Weddy Weddy's anniversary will definitely be on this Wednesday at the Stone Love headquarters.

The anniversary celebrations, which were originally scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 9, were postponed until this Wednesday, "to facilitate some die-hearted fans and artistes who really want to be here for the event", Powell said.

According to Powell, "Everything is in place (for tomorrow) and once we operate within the confines of the law (referring to the Noise Abatement Act), then all should go well. So, come out early, because we end at 2 a.m."

The event, which will mark Weddy Weddy's fourth anniversary, should see the likes of Bounty Killer performing and Elephant Man playing co-host for the night. In addition, dancers will be presented with awards.

Last week, neither Weddy Weddy nor Uptown Mondays was held, and according to a patron from Uptown Mondays, "dem (police) order dem seh fi nuh bodda string up di sound."
