THE EDITOR, Sir:
The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation report claims that the era of cheap food is over. But, there is no need to panic because there is enough food to feed world population.
Well, I don't, for one second, doubt this report, but my question is: how will the poorest of the poor gain access to the variety of foods? It's a known fact that the global economy is going through a financial crunch because of the necessity to acquire cheap and clean energy that is not harmful to the environment. So what does this mean for the poor among us?
I am, etc.,
