Santa Cruz man on crack charges

A 26-year-old man, facing crack cocaine charges was remanded when he appeared in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Tamar Spence, of New Green district, Manchester, who gave his name as 'Christopher Dyer' and 'Christopher Spence', has been sentenced under those names in the past.

It's alleged that on May 3, the Santa Cruz police were on patrol in the Santa Cruz area when they spotted the accused rolling out a substance from a clear plastic bag.

The accused was stopped and, following a search, a small quantity of cocaine was found. He was taken to the Santa Cruz police station, where he was arrested and charged.

He is to return to court on August 5.
