Tivoli on a roll in Summer League

Champions Tivoli Gardens remained unbeaten in the Western Union West Kingston Summer League on Sunday being played at the Tivoli Gardens Sports Complex.

The basketball team had a comfortable 49-33 win over neighbours Denham Town, their sixth straight win. Jermaine Peart and Jermaine Brown led Tivoli in scoring with 15 points each, while Rico Richards had 12 for the losers. In netball action Tivoli thrashed Blades United 42-24.

In other basketball games, Fletchers Land had their first loss when they went down 54-48 to Arnett Gardens. Kwame Lawrence had a game-high 25 points and he was supported by King Thompson with 12. Carey Grizzle (17) and Gerrard Harvey (12) top-scored for Fletchers Land.

Tesfa Milligen netted 17 points in Meadows All-Stars 42-35 win over Swift Sons. Christopher Jennings added 14 points, while Ramar Allen had 14 for Sons.

In netball action, East Central drubbed Eden Strikers 29-14, Prep Star got by Duhaney Strikers 27-22 and Maverley stayed unbeaten after edging Friendship 21-20.
