Three teens killed

Three teenagers were killed in separate incidents between Thursday and yesterday.

The Caymanas police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 14-year-old girl at her home at Grange Lane in St Catherine, on Thursday.

Dead is Monique Codner, a student of Bridgeport High School.

Reports are that about 4:40 p.m., Monique and a male friend who went to visit her were in a room. An explosion was heard and it was later discovered that Codner had been shot. She was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where she died while being treated.

seeking assistance

Investigators are seeking Nicolai Smith of Grange Lane who they believe may assist in their investigations.

Meanwhile, the Wakefield police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a 15-year-old girl.

The body, identified as that of Sherieka Shanise Gordon of Bounty Hall, Trelawny, was found in bushes in that community on Friday morning.

Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network's liaison officer for Trelawny, are that about 8:30 a.m., Sherieka's body was discovered near her home by a relative. The police were called and the body removed to the morgue.

The police are awaiting the result of a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.

shot by gunman

An 11-year-old boy was shot dead by a gunman at Central Road in Central Village, St Catherine, on Friday morning.

Dead is Desmond Francis of Central Road.

Reports are that about 9 a.m., Desmond was at home when a family member and a man became involved in a dispute. During the altercation, the man pulled a firearm and opened fire, hitting Desmond. He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
