Cops nab suspect

The Hanover police now have in their custody, a man who is said to be wanted for several murders, shootings and robberies committed in the parish.

In police custody is Barrington Christie, also known as 'Brenton' from the parish.

Christie was reportedly wanted for the January 17 murder of former Jamaica Labour Party caretaker for the Cauldwell division in Hanover Byron Carter, whose body was found with multiple gunshot wounds near his home in the parish.

Police reports are that Christie was held at a fast food restaurant in Ocho Rios, St Ann, on Thursday night.

Christie is also reportedly linked to the murder of foreign exchange dealer Junior Johnson who was killed in May.

Meanwhile, the police are on the hunt for one of Christie's cronies, Damian Grey also known as 'Asha'. He is also linked to a number of killings, shootings and robberies.

Both men were said to be driving fear into residents forcing some to flee their respective communities.
