Businessman denied bail again in friend's death

Businessman Steven Cause-well was again denied bail when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Last Thursday, he was denied bail on the grounds that the post-mortem was not yet ready.

This time, the document was ready. However, it was revealed that the injuries from which Causewell's ex-girlfriend, Nordia Mitchell died was not consistent with that of a fall.

For this reason, he was not granted bail. Resident Magistrate Glen Brown consequently advised the defence to make an application at the Supreme Court.

Causewell was charged with the murder of Mitchell at her Oaklands Apartment home in Constant Spring, St Andrew.

Mitchell's body was found on the grounds of the complex.

Causewell was taken into custody shortly after the incident which occurred more than two weeks ago.

Mitchell's body was found with bruises and signs of a physical struggle, which confirmed that she was in a physical altercation.

Causewell is booked to appear in court again on September 8.
