Best of three

Dear Pastor,

I am a 17-year-old girl who is having problems deciding what to do at this point in time of my life. I have crushes on three guys, but I am confused where it is concerned about which one to be with. I have strong feelings for the eldest which is currently working. They all have different ways of grabbing my attention and different aspects of what I want in a boyfriend. I am not sexually active so we aren't engaged in any sexual activities.

The problem is, I am not sure how to get out of these affairs. I sat and thought the best way to solve all this is to concentrate on what I want out of life because guys will always be around. I know that at this age I shouldn't be in such a situation, but there are other teenage girls out there in this same situation.

So, please, tell me, pastor how can I get rid of these guys and keep myself from getting into this situation again? I am currently working, but I plan to start my bachelor's programme in September.

N.S., St Andrew, Jamaica

Dear N.S.,

It is natural for guys to see girls and like them. And a girl could find herself having many boys liking her and showing interest in her. In your case, there are three. Be nice to them. Be civil saying hello and making brief conversation. But don't give either of them the impression that you are seeking their attention. If they give a hint that they want to be intimate, tell them that you are not ready for that.

Pastor
