The World's fastest man Usain Bolt looked to be in cruise control in the opening heat of the 200m, as he began his quest for the Olympic sprint double at the Beijing Olympic Stadium last night.
The Jamaican didn't win his first-round 200 heat last night, taking it easy and finishing second to Rondell Sorillo of Trinidad and Tobago. The top-three runners in each heat advance.
Sprint double?
Bolt broke his own world record in the 100 by winning that gold medal in 9.69 seconds Saturday. He has now moved a step closer to becoming the first man to complete a sprint double at the Summer Games since Carl Lewis did it in 1984. Bolt's Jamaican teammate Marvin Anderson also advanced to the next round.
Also advancing were reigning Olympic 200-meter champion Shawn Crawford of the United States and Walter Dix, the American who won the 100 bronze Saturday.
