CONCACAF Champions League match rescheduled

The first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League football match between Caribbean Club Champions Harbour View and Pumas Unam of Mexico has been rescheduled for this evening at 9:00 at the Harbour View Mini Stadium.

The match, which was originally set for yesterday evening, was postponed because of the threat of Tropical Storm Gustav, which has also forced the cancellation of several other sporting events across the island.

The Jamaica Cricket Association all-island one-day matches have now been rescheduled for Saturday, September 6.

The Jamaica Ruby Union workshop, which was scheduled from August 30-31 at the Brimmer Vale High School in St. Mary, has also been postponed until further notice.

Meanwhile, the 44th staging of the Roper Cup football competition between St. George's College and Kingston College (KC) will be held on Saturday at Emmet Park, starting at 8:30a.m.

The Under-14s and Under-16 teams will compete for the George Thompson Cup, in memory of the late national football coach and KC sportsman who died some months ago.

This year the Kingston College Old Boys Association will honour St. George's College old boy Anthony Young and the St. George's College Old Boys' Association will honour Kingston College old boy Ronnie Chin.
