Dancehall artiste New Kidz. - Contributed
In this weekly Muss Buss Caan Buss song review feature, three musical minds with different tastes will analyse each song and will grade it on vocal ability, lyrics, musical arrangement and appeal. Songs that make the grade will be dubbed 'Mus Buss', while songs that flop they will be dumped in the 'Caan Buss' bin.
The three reviewers welcome feedback from the artistes and the public about the column. Send your comments to bussdem@hotmail.com or mail in your songs to Muss Buss at the Gleaner Company, 7 North Street, Kingston. This week the muss buss/cyaan buss team will be reviewing New Kidz's Woman.
Witch: "Wha yuh seh a Buju new protégé dis."

Lady Boo: "Dats why him a try sound like him so."
Queen: "Maybe he's not trying to, maybe he always sounded like dat."
Witch: "Di voice in di background sound like Akon eeh, di deejay sounds slightly foreign-ish."
Lady Boo: "It sound like when a foreign person a try sound Jamaican but di Akon sound weh yuh hear a plain auto tune. How much people inna di song, nuh one person."

Witch: "Honestly, when mi hear di name of di song (Woman), mi did tink seh a one conscious song, mi neva expect it to be dis, bout woman yuh hot, mi waan yuh?"
Lady Boo: "Hold on deh, 'boom whine', it really nuh conscious fi true. Den again it nuh wrong if a man seh him want a woman or di boom whine."
Queen: "Mi only wish di auto tune neva included, cause it's so over done and mi nuh tink when yuh use it you're truly using your talent. But di back vocal really add to di song."

Queen: "It's not a bad song, I can really see it being played on di radio but I don't think it would get a big response in di dancehall. I don't see di song being played at a party and mi jumping up and down because I'm excited."
Lady Boo: "Da song more suit bedroom rub-a-dub. It remind mi a some ole Buju (songs)."
Queen: "It remind me a Buju song, 'Girl Yuh Make My Day', everytime mi hear da song yah it remind me of di video."
Witch: "True, it nuh sound like dancehall today, it sound like old dancehall and have a slight ole time rap vibe, mi nuh know why."

Lady Boo: "Not a bad song, di more yuh listen to it, di more yuh ears tek to it."
Witch: "Yeah, it have a radio feel, it will get played dere. Buss or don't buss?"
Queen: "Gi him a buss still, maybe not in di dancehall but in terms of airplay on radio and for reggae music lovers, I give him a buss too."
