Two teenagers accused of attempting to extort money from a Corporate Area business pleaded not guilty when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Allegations in the matter are that the boys went to a St Andrew business establishment where they delivered a note to the operator stating that the business was now required to pay them $10,000 per week for community protection.
After delivering the note, the two accused went back to the premises the following week and the police were called. Both boys were subsequently arrested and slapped with extortion charges.
Resident Magistrate Glen Brown, who also made a fingerprint order in the matter, requested that the accused return to court on September 23.
