'Fit' for a queen

The lovely Etana wears classic black backstage at Welcome to Jamrock.- File

Always looking elegant, colourful and fashionable, STAR of the month Etana has a unique style.

Etana describes her fashion sense as 'free spirited', like her music. Being a free spirited dresser, Etana says she will easily change her mind, despite having already planned her outfit for the event.

Etana says she loves to wear colours such as yellow, blue, lots of gold and silver. She can more often than not be seen wearing skirts, sometimes two skirts at a time.

When THE STAR asked Etana about her preference for wearing skirts she explained: "In Africa you'll never see a queen in anything above her knee, nor will you see the Queen of England in anything above the knee, so I don't think we queens should do it."

For Etana, when it comes to finding the perfect 'queenly' outfit she looks to designers Melissa Dunkley of MDiz Collection or Les Campbell. Etana's aunt also does a number of outfits for her as well.

"Melissa Dunkley does a lot of stuff for me, we design the clothes together. The dress I wore for Sumfest this year we designed that together," Etana said.

Although Etana dresses more conservatively than a number of other female entertainers, the singer says she still gets a lot of male attention. She laughingly told THE STAR that men ask her to marry them all the time.

Etana looked fabulous in her black, red, green and gold dress which she said she designed with Melissa Dunkley of MDiz collections.
