New date for Champions in Action

Sean Paul

The annual stage show, Champions in Action returns this heroes weekend, after being postponed due to heavy rains in August.

Presidential Click, the promoters of the show, are pleased to announce that the highly anticipated event has been re-scheduled for Saturday, October 18.

The event will be held at the previously scheduled venue, Portmore's Jamworld Entertainment Complex and all previously confirmed acts, including multi-platinum selling stars Shaggy and Sean Paul, will be in attendance. The line-up also includes Bounty Killer and members of the Alliance - Mavado, Busy Signal, Serani and others.

New addition

Deejay Vybz Kartel has also been added to the line-up. He was not previously booked for the show. The artiste will be representing for his hometown of Portmore in what will be a highly-anticipated performance, with Etana, Sizzla and Tarrus Riley bringing a touch of 'culture' to the event.

A host of other performers from past and present will take the expected huge turnout on a historic musical journey.

Tony Matterhorn, Stone Love and Swatch will run the tracks in between acts and band changes to keep the patrons bubbling. Acts will be on stage at 10 p.m. and patrons are encouraged to turn out early.

Despite the show's postponement, the promoters of the charity event still fulfilled their promise to the inner city communities of Kingston, by hosting the annual children's back-to-school treat, held in West Kingston, recently.
