Jail for Junior Reid

Junior Reid, a 46-year-old man from Kingston, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment at hard labour on drug-related charges in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Allegations in the matter are that Reid was about to board a flight destined for Trinidad. The authorities became suspicious of his behaviour and accosted him.

Reid subsequently expelled 2.2 kg of ganja. He was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of, dealing in and taking steps to export ganja.

Senior Resident Magistrate Glen Brown handed down the sentence.
