OOPS, they did it again!
Arnett Gardens yesterday lost their third straight Premier League match in a week when Irvino English slammed in a 23rd-minute penalty to give 10-man Water-house a 1-0 win at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex.
Defender Desmond Breaken-ridge gifted his former team the winning goal by hacking down midfielder Kenardo Forbes just inside the box.
English made no mistake from the spot, rifling Waterhouse to seven points, joining Harbour View and champions Portmore atop the standings.
Winless
The loss left Arnett winless, goalless and pointless at the foot of the standings.
Reno against Boys' Town at St Elizabeth Technical High was rained out while Portmore rallied from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Village at Jarrett Park.
Eric Vernon's first-half injury-time goal cancelled Telston Bowen's 24th-minute opener.
Harbour View grabbed the lead on goal difference after Lovel Palmer's double, 25th and 83rd, handed them a 2-1 win over promoted Meadhaven at Constant Spring.
Levelled score
Keammar Daley levelled the score from the penalty spot in the 40th but Palmer's cross from the right took a vicious swing into goal to snap the promoted team's unbeaten run.
Promoted Rivoli got off the mark with a 1-0 home win over Sporting Central when Greg Gardner's 29th-minute goal halted their losing streak, lifting the Spanish Town team from last on goal difference to ninth on three points, joining Tivoli and St Georges, who drew 0-0 at Lynch Park.
It was more grief at Arnett Gardens as Kevin Wilson missed a point-blank range header and Gregory Simpson afterwards watched his shot rebound off the base of the upright.
Coach Jerome Waite was not amused, especially against Waterhouse who lost Lance DaCosta in the 35th minute.
"Who wouldn't be disappointed," he asked?
"We controlled the game," he said. "We created chances we should have put away. That keeps haunting us.
"The media keep saying Arnett are not playing bad but that will not help Arnett. The aim of the game is to score goals and the team needs to show that," he added.
Waterhouse coach Wayne Fairclough said Arnett were gutsy but his team stuck to the task.
"It was a good game," he said. "We came here to win and did just that. We stuck to the task and played with 10 men for
70-odd minutes."
