The finals of the 2008 Heineken Green Synergy series is now at an end with finalists DJ Rohan and DJ Jigga entering the showdown with great confidence.

The showdown, which will be held at the Chinese Benevolent Association, on Old Hope Road, (Kingston 6) will feature Rohan Abrahams, aka DJ Rohan, going up against Andre' Reid, also known as DJ Jigga.

It is a show of faith for Abrahams, who, in his third year of the competition said in an interview with THE STAR that experience would be the key factor.

"Last year Inferno won it deservedly... but, I'm in music for 21 years now... Jigga just started the other day, although him have a nice personality that everybody likes... my experience will be the key," said Abrahams.

After his second place finish last year, which saw DJ David taking the title, Abrahams claims the results would be in favour of him this time around.

"This time I'm not going to lose. No repeat of last year will happen, cause I have the international flavour, I have the know-how ... and what the people are looking for, which is the requirement for a better regional final," said Abrahams who originates from Orange Walk in St Thomas.

Abrahams added: "I'll be giving the same raw talent everybody knows I have ... I also have a little surprise for them."

Meanwhile, Reid, who is entering the finals for the first time, is now relishing the prospects of winning the competition, which he says will boost his career.

"Happy, happy ... I'm so overwhelmed right now. At the moment I think I have a eighty per cent chance of winning ... because I get more respect from the public. This is my first year and it's the third time now DJ Rohan a try it... people rate me for that," said Reid of Peace View, Albion, in Montego Bay.

"Winning is very important to me... It's just my personality that makes me different, me have the talk and know what to play for the people."

"I learn a lot from the experience, and meet a lot of people on road shows. When I win, I have the chance to push my career. First by hiring a booking agent, then get the epuipment to support my profession," he added.

The winner will be announced at the group finals on Saturday October 11 at the Chinese Benevolent Association in Kingston.

Right after the crowning, the Jamaican Heineken Green Synergy champion will have to battle against five selectors from the islands of the Bahamas, Belize, US Virgin Islands, Cayman and Bermuda to qualify for a place in the Regional Heineken Green Synergy finals in Curaçao.

The competition will be judged based on four main criteria - music selection, cross over mixing, technique and crowd response. Six judges chosen from each of the competing islands will judge the final competition and determine the winner.
