Upcoming deejay Deva Bratt, whose real name is Sheldon Smith, was freed on Friday when he appeared in the St Catherine Circuit Court.
Smith was freed after the judge said there was no evidence against him as the 15-year-old complainant in the matter was said to have migrated and the investigating officer could not locate her.
Smith of Portmore, St Catherine, was charged with carnal abuse after the teen reported that he had an intimate relationship with her. The entertainer was charged by Constable Llewelyn Madden of the Waterford Police Station.
He was represented by attorney-at-law Peter Champanie.
Smith, however, has another sexual-offence charge against him.
The deejay will reappear in court on October 24 to answer to rape charges. He was granted $200,000 bail.
Smith is best known for his single, Gussie Clarke.
