Two policemen from the Westmoreland division were ordered released when their matter was mentioned in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
Allegations in the matter are that both policemen, Damion Harrow and Donovan Ross, were detained as there was information linking them to an armed robbery in the same parish.
The attorney representing the men demanded that they be released because there was no charge against them. "Your Honour, they have been in lock-up for one week now and no witnesses have come forward and the identification parade scheduled for Saturday was not held. This is senseless. How can they be remanded without being charged?" the attorney asked.
The court was told by the investigating officer that there are two complainants, one of whom is a fugitive and decided to drop the case, while the other complainant refuses to come forward. He also said there were statements but no witnesses.
It was on these grounds that Resident Magistrate Glen Brown ordered that the men be released immediately.
