BEATEN by the island's top two sprinters at 1100 metres in the grade one She's On Wheels Trophy on July 19, EXPLOSIVE PEAK should put away rivals, including the seven-from-eleven filly, OUTSTANDING, in tomorrow's eighth race for open allowance runners.

After being outfinished by CHADMAN and MEDICAL REPORT on July 19, EXPLOSIVE PEAK returned at 1000 metres straight on October 4 but found old rival NASATOL a neck better in a fast 57.4.

The six-year-old American-bred filly has somewhat of an easier task tomorrow as she should get the better of her two main rivals, OUTSTANDING and MINISTEROFFINANCE.

OUTSTANDING, who recently returned off an eight-month lay-up, scored a narrow win two Saturdays ago, hanging on at 1300 metres to beat SHE'S OUTRAGEOUS by a neck - a far cry from the filly, who went unbeaten in her first five races, suffering her first defeat in the Caribbean Sprint last Superstakes Day, finishing fourth by less than two lengths.

Trainer Gresford Smith removing the visor suggests he was not too pleased with the filly's win, as the months she spent away in failed attempts in the breeding shed, appear to have dulled her somewhat.

MINISTEROFFINANCE chased home NASATOL and EXPLOSIVE PEAK last time out, but continues to be gingerly trained on the racetrack. He did run big, disputing the lead with EXPLOSIVE PEAK before fading close home.

MINISTEROFFINANCE was a winner at 1200 metres on July 19, beating overnight allowance, the same day EXPLOSIVE PEAK lost to grade one runners. The difference in class was obvious then as MINISITEROFFINANCE had to dig in to catch RIO INFINITO, who was relegated to third at the wire by NATURALLY ROYAL.

With RIO INFINITO, OUTSTANDING and RIGMAROLE bound to knot on the lead, EXPLOSIVE PEAK should sit tight from her outside draw and gradually pick off rivals under Winston Griffiths before being set down for the drive up the lane.

Percy Hussey's NAVAL COMMANDER, who has impressed in the mornings, should win the day's trophy race, the 1400-metre fifth race, the Lester Saunders Memorial for two-year-olds.

The bay colt has been keeping company with stablemate NATIONAL GALLERY, clocking 1:08.0 for five and a half furlongs last Wednesday.

Track Price Plus Pick-6 players should add NAVAL COMMANDER to KLASSICAL ROCK, NATURAL ATLANTA, SINGINGINTHERAIN, SATISFIER, and RISING HURRICANE for a shot at a decent payout.

KLASSICAL ROCK, a 10-length winner against maidens on August 9, returns treated with lasix at 1000 metres straight in the first, whereas SINGINTHERAIN should outstay his six rivals in the second at 1700 metres after his fair third-place effort behind PICCOLO and RIFLEMAN at 1820 metres on October 18.

NATURAL ATLANTA, second in her last three races, should outbattle SMILE OUT at 1300 metres in the third and consistent SATISFIER gets the nod in the sixth at 1500 metres after trying to match strides with out-of-class ROMEZ at 1200 metres on a higher tag on October 11.

Close all bets with RISING HURRICANE, who only has BORN TO DANCE to catch and beat in the 1100-metre seventh race.
