Scotiabank Group defeated Courts Distribution Centre 3-0 in the Division Two final to capture the double in the 2008 Tank-Weld/Ciclon Business House football competition last Saturday at the NWC playing field, Mona. Geon Homes won the Division One title as they defeated Jamaica Broilers 2-0 in a penalty shoot-out. The teams played to a 1-1 full time and extra time draw.

Scotiabank were the outstanding team during the season. They created history, ending the season unbeaten after playing 24 games. They won 22 and drew two games. They had earlier won the knockout title last Thursday after defeating Tank-Weld Metals on penalties.

Richard West scored the first goal in the 10th minute, and Stephan Bartley made it 2-0 in the 18th minute. Nicholas McCreath scored the third goal in the 41st after Scotiabank were awarded a penalty by referee Horace Hall. Scotiabank received $40,000 and Courts pocketed $20,000.

The Division One final was a close and exciting match. Glenroy Levy gave Jamaica Broilers the lead in the fifth minute when he beat goal keeper Nigel Turner from close range. Mario McDonald got the equaliser for Geon Homes in the ninth minute when he shot past goalkeeper Leon Belto.

Both teams failed to score again in regular and extra time and the match went to penalty kicks. Geon's goalkeeper Turner saved both kicks from Jamaica Broilers. Norman Morris and Nicholas Denton both scored for Geon to emerge 2-0 winners. Geon Homes pocketed $60,000 and Jamaica Broilers received $30,000.
