Dear Pastor,
As I am writing you this letter, tears are flowing out of my eyes. Ten years ago, I met a guy and we have been in a relationship since. We have been living together for eight years. During that time, he didn't want me to work or even go to school. Anyway, I forced myself to go, even though he raised hell. We have a child together. He is now eight years old. The problem is I am a singer and I am extremely beautiful. I have the looks of Tami Chynn. He really loves the music and wants me to do it but he said that I must not talk to anyone at all.
People are having problems with him because he shows them unpleasant looks. I can't talk to my mom or dad or anybody. So, today I told him nicely that I will not go any further with the business because I don't want it to destroy our relationship. Pastor, he gave me a beating and told me that the music was the only reason he was with me. He told me to leave because he should be able to run my head, whatever that means.
Pastor, I am a decent lady and he knows. We have been through a lot and I always help him out. Why did he treat me this way? Sometimes I have to wonder if God remembers me. I am minutes away from suicide. Please, help me, please.
Decent Young Lady, Jamaica
Dear Decent Young Lady,
This man is controlling and disrespectful. He is a very silly man and you should leave him. He may tell you he loves you but he is lying. He has you in bondage. You should report him to the police.
Don't blame God for your problems. Have confidence in yourself. Leave this man. Go home to your parents. They don't want to see you abused.
Pastor
