The police say investigations into the shooting at the Double Diamond Gaming Lounge which claimed the lives of four people and injured three others on October 20, are going well.
THE WEEKEND STAR was told that over 35 statements have been collected so far and that witnesses have been co-operating fully with the police.
The incident claimed the lives of E'jon Peart, 20, from Greendale Drive, Kingston 19, Davian Kerr, 19, from a Pembroke Hall address; Lynchmore Forbes, 23, a labourer also from Pembroke Hall; and William Wilberforce.
Injured was a corporal of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Coastguard.
Discussions with woman
Reports are that approximately 4:15 a.m., a birthday party was in full swing at Shop 23, Boulevard Shopping Centre, when the soldier, 31, approached a woman and was in discussions with her.
Male companions of the woman are said to have approached him and an altercation developed. Sometime after that, it is alleged that Moodie pulled his gun and shots were fired. Three persons, Peart, Kerr and Wilberforce, were killed on the spot. Forbes was pronounced dead at the Kingston Public Hospital.
A release from the JDF, however, said there had been a shoot-out between the soldier and men in the club.
The soldier is not well enough to be interviewed. Investigators say, however, that once he is fit, he will be questioned in the presence of his lawyers.
