Wanted man captured

Garfield West, a man the police was seeking in connection with a number of crimes committed in Kingston, St Andrew and St Mary, was captured after a joint effort by cops from the Kingston West and St Andrew South divisions.

West, who is also known as 'Prento', was captured at a premises at the intersection of Spanish Town Road and Rose Lane, St Andrew, after the police received information about his whereabouts.

He was being sought in connection with several robberies and frequented the Stony Hill, Red Hills, Half-Way Tree, Papine, Meadowbrook, Whitehall Avenue, and Long Lane areas of St Andrew. He also frequented Greater Portmore in St Catherine, Port Maria, Tower Isle, Oracabessa in St Mary and Ocho Rios in St Ann.

A reward of $150,000 was being offered for information leading to his arrest and charge.
